The Brantford Kinsmen Annual Ribfest is now in its seventh year, this family-friendly festival is one of Brantford’s most anticipated summer events, welcoming more than 24, 000 people. Enjoy a weekend full of food, music and fun on August 5, 6 and 7, 2016 in Brantford’s beautiful Cockshutt Park. Savour mouth-watering ribs, hamburgers, slow-roasted corn, blooming onions and cool treats like ice cream and snow cones. The Molson Beer garden will be open daily, which is always the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the live music. Award-winning ribbers from all over North America will showcase their finest ribs and sauces. Teams are competing for this year’s title of “Best Ribs”. Sample each team’s special recipes and vote for your favourite. All proceeds from this event will support Brantford Kinsmen Club’s commitments to continuing support for local initiatives. While ribs take centre stage, there is a lot more to enjoy at the festival. Local bands will be performing all weekend as well as our headliners presented by the OLG. Take some time to stroll through the Rogers TV Marketplace. Browse unique items while supporting local merchants. Brantford’s Ribfest has thought of everything this year. New features include the Bouncy Village, What a Ball, and much more to keep your little ones entertained. Come join us at the Adelaide Hunter Hoodless Homestead for our “I Spy at Addie’s” museum tour event on Saturday Aug 6th from 10am-2pm. This family-oriented event will have children young and old exploring toys of the past and present and trying to find which ones don't belong. Can you spot all of the hats, irons, and toy mice hiding about? Explore our "A Child's Play: Toys of Past and Present" exhibit, and enjoy your lunch at our picnic shelter. Admission price is $5 for adults and children. Cash only please. All proceeds will help support programs for children, youth and adults and maintenance of this heritage site that celebrates the childhood home of one of Canada’s most important women – Adelaide Hunter Hoodless.

We invite youth ages 8-13 to come learn a new ‘old-fashioned’ skill and create a masterpiece to take home. Workshops are 8:45 am to 12 from August 8th to 10th. Youth can sign up for individual workshops, or the full series. Workshops are $20 for the first session and $15 for each additional session. Summer Fun workshop August 8th: Bring your favourite summer photos and create a scrapbook of lifetime memories. Quilling… WHAAT? And card making workshop August 9th: Learn the art of paper quilling to make a unique card for a friend or family member. Tooth Brush Rag Rug workshop August 10th: Find out how to turn your old scraps into something new using a… tooth brush! These fun hands-on learning workshops will let you have a new hobby and skill that you can continue to build on in the future. Please sign up for the workshops by August 4th. Rotary Charity Airshow

Cap off your summer by experiencing amazing aerial displays at the 2016 Rotary Charity Airshow in Brantford. Aviation is showcased both in the air and on the ground. Returning favourites will include spectacular displays by the Canadian Forces Snowbirds, Canada’s CF-18 fighter jet demonstration, daring aerobatics and more. This family-friendly event will offer additional entertainment and activities on the ground, including more aircraft on display, an autograph tent, aviation displays and vendors, a kids amusement area and food offerings. Bring your chairs and cameras out to the Brantford Municipal Airport and let your wings soar! Gates open 11am. Air Show begins at 2pm. The Rotary Charity Airshow is a FREE event. Donations at the gate are appreciated. Parking is $15 per vehicle (Field parking, walking distance to show. Accessibility parking available) Dinner with the Pilots – Fundraising Event: On Tuesday, August 30th, attend an exciting fundraising dinner with the performers.
