The Royal Canadian Army Cadets appeal to teenagers craving exciting outdoor activities where their personal limits as individuals and team-members will be tested. The outdoor-oriented will love the challenge! Cadets is a great way for youth to learn more about Canada, make new friends and develop life skills that will enable them to succeed no matter what career they choose. Cadets with 2659 Army Cadets discover how to camp, hike, trail ride, navigate in the bush, do military drill, explore military equipment, play sports and learn fitness, practicing outdoor survival, participate in parades, learn how to play the bagpipes or drums, and much, much more. Cadets learn skills such as communication, time management, teamwork, leadership, confidence, public speaking, organizational and interpersonal skills. Come check us out Tuesday, at the Brantford Armoury at 18 Brant Ave Brantford for 7:00pm. (regular hours are Tuesdays 6:30 to 9:15pm) Parents should come with their son or daughter (12 years and older) to sign up and see what we have in store for this training year! Harvest Blend Pet Foods presents The Laughter For Paws Show, a great night of stand up comedy featuring host Billy Weigand and international headliner David Cornel. David has been seen on numerous TV specials and Comedy Festivals across North America. This show is raising money and awareness for The Brant County SPCA in their ongoing effort to rescue and find new homes for animals in distress. Tickets are just $12(+fees) in advance and $18 (fees incl) at the door. Supply is limited and will sell out fast. The show will be held at The Brantford Convention Centre 100 Market St S, Brantford. Show starts at 8:30 with doors open at 7:30. A licenced bar, silent auction, raffles and draws help make this a fantastic night out! Curl For Kids Sake is a fun, non-competitive curling event to raise funds and awareness for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Grand Erie. NO CURLING EXPERIENCE NEEDED! Each “rink” (team of four curlers) either pays a registration fee OR pledge-gets on behalf of the agency in order to participate. For $75 each, curlers will enjoy 2 – 6 end games, breakfast, lunch, prizes, a team photo, and much more!
