This workout focuses on cardiovascular and muscular enhancement for the aging adult. This one hour class involves movement, weights and overall body conditioning on and off the floor. Come move your body around the room in a unique way. Think outside the norm when you step into this class. We work various muscles in different ways. We use the walls too. Try your hand at a bean bag toss for warm-ups! Get the heart rate rolling with a little soldier walk around the room interrupted by a few sets of squats. Free weights are incorporated throughout the entire class. Whatever we do, we do it with style, a style you can call your own. Bring your water and your shoes let’s get our cardio on!

Join us as we “explore a slow approach to stitching on cloth. The pleasures to be had from slowing down processes are multiple, with connections to ideas of sustainability, simplicity, reflection and multicultural textile traditions” (Slow Stitch by Claire Wellesley-Smith, 2015). Bring your mending, embroidery project, quilting piece or just willing hands to feel the magic of needle and thread dipping into fabric. Whether a beginner or experienced, we will share our resources and ideas. We will together explore colour, line, texture and possibilities. All materials will be supplied or bring your own. All ages are welcome. Free drop-in program.

If you have balance issues, arthritis, osteoporosis or haven’t been active in a while this class is for you. The instructor will guide you through a 1 hour class that will help you move your body safely and effectively. Modifications for different fitness levels are part of the class.
